We co-wrote Jet Trails in London in 2024.  It’s the story of the ways we find ourselves confused by relationships, constantly desiring wanting a thing and its opposite.  Probably the characters in the song are doomed, but nobody will say that the time was wasted.  Mostly, it should be noted, this is not an autobiographical song.  Mostly.

I think a lot about how Shakespearean history really is; In Romeo and Juliet, a messenger is missed by the roadside and everybody drinks poison and dies. In non-fiction, there’s some crappy paper ballots in Florida in 2000 and then climate change is unhandled for twenty years. Bullets miss by inches, left and right. Subdivide was written during the 2024 US presidential election and talks about the crazy despair encountered there. It’s also one of the rare songs that Ben sings.
